About Us
Sheffield Street Tree Partnership is a multi-organisation group which came together in 2019, following a protracted dispute about how street trees were managed in Sheffield. We work together in partnership to care for and enhance Sheffield’s street trees.
Sheffield Street Tree Partnership is represented by Sheffield City Council, Amey, the Woodland Trust, Sheffield & Rotherham Wildlife Trust, Sheffield Tree Action Groups and the volunteer Street Tree Wardens.
The Partnership works to oversee the delivery of the actions set out in the Sheffield Street Tree Partnership Strategy. All members of the Partnership bring a passion for improving Sheffield’s network of street trees.
Our Partnership Charter outlines how we work together as a Partnership.
You can find out more about the work we do by watching this recording of our introductory webinar.

The Sheffield Street Tree Partnership (SSTP) brings together the Council, Amey, Residents, and stakeholders such ast the Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust to care for and celebrate Sheffield’s street trees.
Recognising the time commitments from our various volunteers, alongside the need to deliver against the commitments of the Sheffield Street Tree Strategy at pace, the SSTP has introduced a refreshed approach to planning and delivering our work. This new format is designed to be clear, consistent, and inclusive, making it easier for everyone to engage and contribute.
What’s New?
We now operate through four dedicated sub-groups, each meet approximately 8 times a year with focus on a key area of our work. These groups are as follows:
- Planting, Biodiversity and Engagement,
- Sheffield Street Tree Wardens;
- Data Gathering, Evaluation and Reporting;
- Management and Third Party Claims.
Each group seeks to coordinate and deliver targeted activities aligned with their focus, share updates and progress with the wider partnership and to identify opportunities for collaboration and community input. An action log from across the subgroups will be maintained and published periodically via our website. Should you wish to find out more, or to support the work of one of our sub-groups please contact the Partnership Manager at manager@sheffieldstreettreepartnership.org
As a result of the proposed new meeting structure, the wider partnership meeting has moved from a monthly meeting to a quarterly meeting. All sub-groups come together at our quarterly meetings to ensure alignment across the partnership and to enable strategic decision-making. Minutes from our quarterly meetings and away days will be posted to our website in line with previous meetings. Should you wish for any matters to be raised for discussion at the partnership, and/or you would like to consult with us, please get in touch with the Partnership Manager.
Keeping You Informed
We’ll keep our website updated with any changes to meetings or activities, including cancellations or special circumstances, so you always know what’s happening.
Why This Matters
